Zinc Borate is an environmentally friendly halogen free flame retardant/smoke suppressant. It has some great  specialties such as non-toxicity, slight solubility in water, good thermal stability, fine particle size, great free-flowing. It is widely used in plastic, rubber and coating. It can replace antimony (III) oxide as a synergist in both halogen-based and non-halogen based systems.
